Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you buy something from me on iqbalthalayad.com. By making a booking or a payment, you agree to them. I sell two different things, and each has its own section:

1. Who you are dealing with

This website and its services are run by Muhammed Iqbal (Iqbal Thalayad), an individual app developer based in Kerala, India. In these terms, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Muhammed Iqbal, and “you” means the person, community or organisation making the booking or payment.

2. What I sell

Village Info apps

Prices and packages are on the Village Info page. Details in section 3.

Mess Book Premium passes

Prices are on the Mess Book Premium page. Details in section 4.

Everything I sell is a digital service. Nothing is shipped physically. Mess Book subscriptions bought inside the Mess Book app through Google Play or the App Store are sold and billed by those stores, and are covered by their terms and the terms at messbook.ae, not by these terms.

3. Village Info apps

3.1 Prices and offers

  • All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are the total amount you pay for the service described.
  • The Founding 50 Community Offer is a launch price for a limited number of communities. I may end the offer at any time. If you have already paid a booking advance or the full amount, your price is locked in.
  • Custom work, extra modules and anything not listed on the website are quoted in writing (usually on WhatsApp) before you pay.
  • Any running costs after launch (for example app store developer accounts or third-party services) will be explained and agreed with you before you pay. Apple charges its own yearly fee for an Apple Developer account, which is needed for an iPhone app.

3.2 Booking and payment

  • You can pay the full amount, or reserve your spot by paying a ₹1,000 booking advance. The advance is deducted from your final price.
  • If you pay the booking advance, the remaining balance is due before your app is published, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • After paying, please send me your payment ID on WhatsApp so I can match it with your order.

3.3 What I need from you

  • Your app's name, logo and the details you want in it (bus timings, contacts, shops and so on).
  • Confirmation that you have the right to use the logos, photos, names and phone numbers you give me, and that the people listed in the app have agreed to be listed.
  • Reasonably quick replies, so the work is not held up.

You are responsible for the information published in your app. I may refuse or remove content that is unlawful, misleading, hateful or that infringes someone else's rights.

3.4 Delivery

How and when your app is delivered is explained in the Delivery Policy. Publishing on Google Play and the App Store depends on their review processes, which I do not control.

3.5 Ownership

  • Your village name, logo, photos and data remain yours.
  • The Village Info platform, its source code and design remain mine. Your payment gives you the use of your branded app on the platform, not ownership of the platform or its source code.

3.6 Refunds

The ₹1,000 booking advance is refundable if you ask within 7 days of paying. Full payments are refundable in full until I start work, and in part after that. See the Refund Policy for Village Info.

Mess Book only

4. Mess Book Premium passes

4.1 What a pass is

  • A pass turns on Mess Book Premium (no ads) for every member of one Mess Book group for the period you choose. It is a one-time payment and does not renew automatically.
  • All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are the total amount you pay for the pass.
  • Passes are a campaign offer for groups that don't have Premium yet. If your group already has Premium through an in-app subscription, it continues as it is; a pass does not change it.
  • Passes are sold as limited-time offers. I may end an offer at any time, but a pass you have already paid for is always honoured.

4.2 Payment

  • Indian payments only, for now. Because of a technical issue, international payments are not possible at the moment. Passes can be paid only with UPI, cards or netbanking from an Indian bank account.
  • At checkout you give your Group ID (shown in the app under Profile → My Group) and your email. Premium is turned on for the Group ID you enter, so please check it carefully.

4.3 Turning on Premium

  • I turn on Premium for your group by hand, usually within a few hours and at most 24 hours after your payment. I confirm by email. See the Delivery Policy.
  • The period starts on the day Premium is turned on, not on the day you pay.
  • A pass is for one group and cannot be moved to another group once it is turned on, unless I agree to it on WhatsApp.

4.4 Refunds

A pass is refundable in full until Premium is turned on for your group, and not after that. See the Refund Policy for Mess Book.

5. Payments (both products)

6. Limits of responsibility

I build and run the apps with care, but I cannot promise they will always be free of errors or interruptions, including interruptions caused by app stores, hosting providers or other third parties. To the extent the law allows, my total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me for the service concerned.

7. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the date of your payment applies to that payment.

8. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a problem comes up, please contact me first and I will try to sort it out quickly. Any dispute that cannot be settled this way is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Kerala, India.

9. Grievances
